First Presentation of “First Phase Assessment of Children Exhibiting Behavioural or Mental Distress”

I shall be presenting (for the first time) the key First Phase Assessment of children exhibiting behavioural or mental distress at a Primary School in South Bucks on Thursday 28th November 2019. Admission is by invitation only. If you would like to attend or know more please call me direct on 07943 404 388

The key issue is to: Assess the child’s comprehension and capacity to engage in the child’s normal environment.

Without knowing the capacity and level of comprehension all other tests and assessments are built on sand.

The issue of “comprehension” is relevant not only to mental health but also to Youth Offending.

This First Phase Assessment is designed to forestall referrals to CAMHS by identifying children and adolescents who have a range of cognitive, communication and sensory issues that are readily amenable to immediate action and therapy.
