Have your child Immunised – its not phoney, nor a conspiracy, it’s just good science

25th Feb 2019

Now look here:  Vacc and Imm.

Apparently there are people out there thinking that Imm and Vac is – wrong, dangerous, a global plot etc. and are either refusing or delaying their child’s vacc and imm.

Some think Vac and Imm is “unnatural”. Well it is not. Vacc and Imm works with the bodies own immune systems to protect against infections. It was Edward Jenner in the late 1790’s who noticed that those who contracted cowpox did not go on the develop small pox. Thus the idea of vaccination was born. The theory is simple enough – you a mild form of the disease (a vaccine) – that triggers the body’s own immune system so that it can fight a disease it has not yet come into contact. The injection (usually) mimics and encourages the bodies own immune system to develop new and fresh defences against a specific and much greater threat. What not to like?

However vaccination rates are dropping and infections are on the rise. Example:

Between 1 January 2018 and 31 October 2018, there have been 913 laboratory-confirmed measles cases in England. This steep rise in cases (when compared to 259 lab-confirmed measles cases in 2017), was associated with outbreaks linked to importations from Europe that have led to some limited spread in the community, particularly teenagers and young adults who missed out on their MMR vaccine when they were younger. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/measles-outbreaks-across-england

Lastly, remember this. Some children with immune deficiency type illness will not be able to have any vaccine. This being the case those children who can, should have the vaccination to enable “group or community immunity” to build in the population. By keeping the disease from the general population it protects those individuals who cannot have personal protection.
